Description
The Inertial Balance Kit demonstrates how mass can be determined by the frequency at which an object vibrates. It also highlights the distinction between mass and weight. While gravity gives objects weight, the kit shows that gravity does not affect an object's mass.
The setup includes a plate clamped to the table with a second oscillating plate connected by spring blades. Weights are placed on the oscillating plate, and oscillation timing is done using a stopwatch.
