Description
The Tangent Galvanometer is a classic PSSC teaching tool that is provided as a kit for assembly. It features a flat aluminum plate for a horizontal setup and a large coil of wire wound around it. The aluminum construction prevents magnetic interference.
A magnetic compass is placed on the plate, and a DC passed through the coil creates a magnetic field that interacts with the Earth's magnetic field, demonstrating the principles of magnetic deflection.
