Description
The MC34017-3P Telephone Tone Ringer is an integrated circuit designed as a complete telephone bell replacement solution. It provides telephone ringing functionality while requiring only a minimum number of external components. This makes it suitable for telephone equipment design, repair, and replacement applications.
This IC features an on-chip diode bridge and transient protection to help simplify circuit implementation. It supports direct drive of piezoelectric transducers and incorporates a push-pull output stage for greater output power capability.
Designed with an input impedance signature that meets bell and EIA standards, the MC34017-3P also rejects rotary dial transients to help maintain reliable ringing operation. Its compact 8-terminal DIP package makes it convenient for integration into compatible electronic circuits.
