This Shielded Ethernet Cable - Cat6a SSTP Blue patch cable provides a better signal to noise ratio with minimal loss in modern networks requiring speeds up to 10GBASE-T (10 Gigabit) ethernet. Compliant with the most recent standards and manufactured to a very high standard, passing rigorous testing procedures.
Category 6A cables, also known as "Cat6a," are backward compatible with older data cable standards such as Category 5 and 5e. Used in place of standard Cat6 cables. These cables can prevent crosstalk between pairs and to reduce system noise. This enables it to achieve higher speeds than previous standards, up to 10 Gigabit.
The main advantage of Cat6a over Cat6 is the support for 500MHz bandwidth at 10Gbps speeds. Thus allowing for faster data transfer over longer distances than Cat6. Ca6a cables also have stronger shielding and higher signal-to-noise ratios to prevent crosstalk between cables in patch racks, for example.
