Description
The 74LS193 is a 4-bit synchronous up/down binary counter. Synchronous operation is provided by clocking all flip-flops at the same time so that the outputs change together when the steering logic instructs them to.
The output counting spikes that are normally associated with asynchronous (ripple clock) counters are eliminated in this mode of operation.
A LOW-to-HIGH level transition of either count (clock) input triggers the outputs of the four master-slave flip-flops.
