Description
The IC 4514 is a 4 Bit Latch/ 4 to 6 16 Line Decoder built with complementary MOS (CMOS) circuits using N- and P-channel enhancement mode transistors. It is ideal for decoding applications that require low power dissipation and high noise immunity. When the IC 4514 (output active high option) is enabled, it produces a logical "1" at the selected output.
The IC's input latches are R-S-type flip-flops. These retain the last input data presented before the strobe transition from "1" to "0." This input data is then decoded, and the corresponding output is activated accordingly. Additionally, there is an output inhibit line available, providing further control over the output activation.
