Description

The PICAXE-40X2 Surface Mount Chip (44TQFP) is the surface mount version of the enhanced X2 microcontroller from PICAXE. It's versatile, making it suitable for both hobbyist projects and advanced educational purposes.

This chip, based on the PIC18F45K22, offers a wide range of features, including support for up to 33 inputs/outputs with 27 analog/touch sensor channels. It operates at speeds of up to 16 MHz with an internal oscillator or up to 64 MHz using an external resonator or crystal.

The 40X2 supports 4 internal and up to 32 external program slots and can function as an i2c slave device. PICAXE X2 series microcontrollers come with enhanced capabilities, including configurable I/O pins, ring tone music, touch sensor inputs, support for speeds up to 64 MHz, compatibility with i2c and SPI, and high-speed serial communication with background receive.

Additional features include scratchpad memory, separate data EEPROM and data table, and multiple program slots. The Surface Mount PICAXE-40X2 is compatible with various software applications, including the free PICAXE Programming Editor and Logicator for PICAXE flowcharting software.
