The Alloy SCR460ST-1 is a versatile Serial to Fibre Media Converter. It can function as a standalone device or you can integrate it as a Media Converter Module in any Alloy DCR12 Series 12-slot Media Converter Rackmount Chassis. It comes with one triple mode circuit RS-232/RS-422/RS-485 Serial DB-9 copper port and an ST terminated multimode fiber port. This enables the Converter to extend data and control signaling over a fiber cable segment for a maximum distance of 2 kilometers. With auto baud rate capabilities of up to 460.8K and direction control functions, the Alloy SCR460ST-1 Serial to Fibre Converter can detect serial signal characteristics and automatically operate in RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485 mode.

The SCR Series includes other models that feature Terminal Block and DB-9 serial copper connectivity. Also SC or ST terminated multimode or single-mode fiber optic cable connectivity that supports ranges of up to 20 kilometers. All models in the SCR Series have a robust all-metal case and provide high EMI/EMS immunity while being compact.

When used in 'standalone' mode as a discrete Media Converter device, all models in the SCR Series are powered by an external plug pack, which is supplied with the Converter. All SCR Series models have a comprehensive LED suite enabling status monitoring of the Converter.
