The Alloy GCR2000LC.10 is a flexible dual-purpose Gigabit Ethernet Media Converter. You can use it as a standalone device or install it as a Media Converter Module in any Alloy 12-slot Media Converter Chassis. It is suitable for a wide range of media conversion tasks in Gigabit Ethernet network environments, with dual 1000Base-T auto-sensing 10/100/1000Mbps RJ-45 and 1000Base-LX LC terminated single-mode ports. This Alloy GCR2000LC.10 is an ideal solution for UTP/STP copper to Gigabit Ethernet single-mode fiber media conversion tasks. Also the device's IEEE 802.3ab compliant RJ-45 port supports Gigabit, Fast Ethernet, and Ethernet UTP/STP links at up to 100 meters. Additionally, the 1000Base-LX port has a maximum fiber cable range of up to 10 kilometers.

The GCR2000 Series Gigabit Ethernet Media Converters support Link Fault Passthrough (LFP) in both Far-end-Fault (FEF) and Forced Modes (FM). LFP monitors the fiber and copper RX ports for signal loss. In the event of a loss of RX signal on one media port, the Converter will automatically disable the TX signal to the other media port and pass through the link fault LED status. FEF mode stops sending a link pulse to an LFP-capable Converter on the other end of the cable, which will synchronously stop data transmission to prevent data loss over an invalid link. Using FM and FEF LFP functions supports troubleshooting and network security, as both end devices can detect a loss of fiber link and a managed switch that connects to a GCR2000 Series Converter can disable the link and notify administrators of the event.
