The Alloy FCR200MT media converter is a dual-purpose Fast Ethernet Media Converter. It can work as a standalone device or you can install it in an Alloy DCR12 Series 12-slot Media Converter Chassis. Offering a flexible solution for various media conversion applications in Fast Ethernet network environments, with dual 100Base-TX RJ-45 and 100Base-FX MT-RJ multimode ports. It's ideal for UTP/STP copper to Fast Ethernet multimode fiber media conversion tasks. It also has a 100-meter range for the RJ-45 port and up to 2 kilometers for the 100Base-FX port.

An important feature of the Alloy FCR200MT media converter is its support for Link Fault Passthrough (LFP) in both Far-end-Fault (FEF) and Forced Modes (FM). This allows the converters to monitor both the fiber and copper RX ports for signal loss. If one media port experiences a loss of RX signal, the Converter will automatically disable the TX signal to the other media port, passing through the link fault LED status. FEF mode prevents data loss by synchronously stopping data transmission between two LFP-capable converters on either end of the cable.

With combined FM and FEF LFP functions, it has enhanced troubleshooting and network security capabilities. Both end devices can be notified of a loss of fiber link. Also a managed switch connected to an FCR200 Series Converter can be configured to disable the link and notify administrators of the event.
