Description
This TO-220 +5V Voltage Regulator is a high-performance regulator designed primarily for automotive applications. It boasts a low dropout and high current regulation capability, along with an on-chip reset function. This activates upon power-up or upon detecting various output errors, ensuring safety and reliability. It doesn't require an external pull-up resistor, and the delay capacitor has a low current charge, allowing for extended delay times.
Particularly, this regulator offers protection against reverse battery connections or load dumps, which can momentarily exceed the specified maximum voltage. In such cases, the regulator automatically shuts down to safeguard internal circuits and the connected load. It also features standard protection functions like short-circuit and thermal overload safeguards.
