Founded in 1974 by Richard Wilson, Wiltronics has grown from a small local electronics business in Ballarat into one of Australia’s leading suppliers of STEM products, electronic components, and science equipment. The Wilson family legacy stretches back even further, with Richard’s grandfather, Warne A. Wilson, a pioneer in early radio engineering.

Today, Wiltronics is still proudly family-owned and operated, carrying forward a tradition of innovation and service that spans three generations.

Growth Through Innovation

Over five decades, Wiltronics has continually evolved:

• 1970s–1980s – Importing electronic components from Japan and expanding into wholesale, distribution, and retail.

• 1990s – Among the first in Australia to launch an eCommerce website, making STEM and electronics supplies accessible nationwide.

• 2000s–Present – Expanding into science laboratory equipment, STEM education kits, robotics, 3D printing, and environmental sensing technology, with over 11,000 products available online.
