Description
This Arduino compatible temperature sensor module uses a DS18B20 temperature sensor. This DS18B20-based 1-wire bus temperature sensor module is easy to connect and use, and you can even daisy-chain several together on the same wire. It has 0.5C accuracy and fast response. The sensor can also provide 12 bits of precision from its internal digital-to-analog converter. It works great with an Arduino board using a single digital pin.
The book "Practical Arduino" featured the sensor on this module in the Online Temperature Sensor project. Thus making this module perfect for building that project. Freetronics have also written up an updated version of that project using their Ethernet Shield with PoE Support. This is complete with example code that makes it almost a copy-and-paste exercise to add these to your home automation system or data logger!
